The wall broken down into three different color blocks
Mural themes:
The main theme of the project is to highlight Asian American culture, Chinatown and Doyers St. It should be fun and family oriented. Each color block is broken down into the following sub-themes:
- Blue block - The sub-theme is fresh handmade dim sum, live seafood, address and “Ping’s establishment since 1996”. Embrace the imagery and emotions you have when you’re at the table with your friends and family.
- Yellow block - Sub-theme is up to you. Could be an extension of either block
- Purple block - The sub-theme is coffee. Highlight Artbean’s signature drinks and other imagery from the shop like the cups. Mention “Artbean Coffee Roasters” and “wanna grab a coffee?” somewhere in the mural
Dimensions:
- Blue block - 233w x 112h (19.41ft x 9.3ft)
- Yellow block - 60w x 103h (5ft x 8.58ft)
- Purple block - 99w x 103h (8.25ft x 8.58ft)
Details:
- Winning artist gets $200
- Mural will be up for at least 1 year
- Local artist preferred (must be in NYC for mural reveal)
- We will provide all tools and paint (feel free to bring any tools of your own)
